Me and 6,444 Others

On Yarn Harlot's blog the question was asked, "Signups close Friday at midnight. How are you going to feel when everyone is having fun without you?".

That was it, the one thing that could push me over the edge. The thought that others might be having fun without me! I jumped on the bandwagon (me and 6,444 others --- so far). If you run really fast you might be able to catch it, the knit-a-long is accepting new registrants until midnight. Hurry! I'll put out my hand to give you a boost when I see you scrambling to get on board.

I've a ways to go before I catch up completely myself. There are two charts in "clue 1" and I've got the first of them finished.

But the first week has passed and many are on to "clue #2" now.

I'm knitting mine out of the "Black Rainbow" 2ply laceweight handspun. Remember? The stuff I said I wanted to make a triangular shawl out of?

There's a sucker born every minute! Oh wait!! There's at least 2 (+6,444). After reading the Yarn Harlot's post I signed up too. Nothing like thinking you're going to be left out to make you throw reason out the window. I'll look for yarn tomorrow - I really want to do black. but I also want to do beads, so I may have to wait until I can find them.

Welcome to the group! I'm also knitting my stole in black, but without the beads. I may or may not regret that decision later, who knows. Also, don't worry about feeling a bit behind, clue 2 is actually kind of small.

Make that 6720!!!

I'm off to get beads today even though I've been in the KAL almost since the beginning, haven't had time until today. It's not a race, thank goodness :o)

I'm on it too! How fun! I've chosen a cotton pink laceweight merino from Skacel. Got it home only to discover it's almost a cobweb weight! so I'm working on 2.5mm. I'm halfway thru the second chart of clue #1. So fun to see everyone else working on it!!

Are we talking 'bout blogging peer pressure? ;} Well, I can joke because I'm sitting here being a coward about even thinking I could even do that type of work! I'm enjoying so much seeing everyones mystery stoles!

For one who is usually content to do her own thing, I am surprised how much fun I am having making something that over 6,700 knitters worldwide are also making.

Minnie, Dorothy, Kristy, Jenny, Monica, I'm glad to have your company. PJ and Maggie, glad to have you in the stands cheering us on!
