Ready For Boring

There are obsessive sock knitters, but I'm not one of them.

Sock projects tend to languish in the small knitting bag that I only take to meetings, appointments, or on long car rides. These toe-up socks have been on the needles for quite some time, so long in fact that I can't remember exactly when I started them. On a recent car trip I picked them up for the first time in ages and I reached the gussets. When we got home I decided to bring them back into the house for the heel turning and heel flap, which I accomplished today. Now they are going back in their little bag to be reserved once again for those stolen moments when I would otherwise be "wasting time". Don't expect to see the cuffs any time soon.

Ahh. Exactly the same Trekking as my favourite socks, which are sadly finally wearing thin at the heels and have been set aside for mending before disaster strikes.

Those are really pretty, but definately not boring. I like to knit socks and get into a frenzy for a bit then other project take hold and I don't knit them or ages. Hmmm, I do have some sock yarn waiting though.. LOL..

I'm definitely with you on not being a sockaholic. I have 2 pairs on needles and they're going nowhere. But, have a great weekend!

Paula, I hear that those little Weavette looms have a 2" x 2" size that makes wonderful little squares for mending socks.

What I meant by "boring", Deep End, was that I reserve my sock knitting for those boring moments when I am stuck waiting or otherwise sitting around. I'm now "ready for boring" because I have a project waiting for just such a moment.

I like wearing handknit socks Nancy, I'm just not compulsive about knitting them.

If the needles weren't so small and hard on the hands, I'd be a sockaholic--but they are and I'm not. Those socks are delightful, though. Sometimes color will pull a project through when the pattern etc won't.
