Buggy Crazy

I had so much fun yesterday taking these little Dollar Store baby shower party favours.....

Buggies before customization.

.....and "upcycling" them with paint to become these vintage looking, wicker baby buggies.

Hello Baby.

It was a lot of work! All day really, but so much fun that the day flew by.

Can I keep them all

So happy!

I can't choose.

Now Becky is having trouble deciding which one is her favourite.

strolling along

Three buggies for only one little girl? Hmm.....maybe I need more Realpukies?

Shhh, shhh, shhhh.

Marlene, this is such a creative and fun idea.:) What kind of paint did you use? I have a very cute little Barbie cradle that could use a new look.:)

Thanks for the great idea! Joyce

Thanks Joyce. I sprayed them first with a paint made specifically for plastics. I think that's a necessary step to seal the plastic and give the other layers something to adhere to. I then used acrylic paints to add the various colours. Next step was a wash of watered down acrylic to "antique" the look, giving it depth, and then a final protective coating with spray of clear matte finishing spray. All in all it took HOURS LoL, but the first 3 have already sold!

I was waiting for someone to mention these baby strollers. I was tempted to get one until I notice they are way to small for my dolls. Let us know if you get any more dollar store treasures.

I look every time I go through a dollar store, Sweet Melodies. Haven't seen much lately. These little ones are quite the treasures for the Realpukies though. What size are your dolls.
