21 Snaps!

I spent some time this past week sewing for my granddaughters' 17", "Frightfully Tall, Monster High" dolls.

I used "Easy T-Shirt and Pant", a DGRequiem sewing pattern available via Etsy.

I used scraps of fabric I already had on hand, and thread from my stash as well.

The 3 pairs of pants and six shirts (one outfit is not shown, but is identical to the one below) were quite fun to sew except for one thing ---

--- or maybe that should be 21 things! Sewing 21 tiny snaps on was a bit of a drag.

Those are so cute! I have a pile of tiny knitted dresses just waiting for snaps. I need to have a snap sewing marathon soon!

I'm usually pretty good about getting the snaps sewn on as each item is completed, Kiki's Korner, but when a bunch are being made all at once it just makes sense to do it marathon style rather than get all supplies out over and over.

I'm sad to say that none of my doll clothes have snaps. I get to that part of the directions and somehow my daughters are off with the clothes and I'm all, "eh, I guess they don't really need them." I detest the sewing of snaps, buttons, or any other fasteners. Yet I am helplessly addicted to doll clothes. Bravo for you for getting the job done right!

Thanks Sweetsknit. The ones I just finished were gifts so the incentive was high.

In the toybox I keep for the grandchildren there is ONE old Barbie dress held together with a safety pin. The children manage snaps much better than they do that pin! You'd think I'd just pull the dress out of there and sew on a darn snap!
