The fabric gets pushed down into the machine, especially at the beginning of the seam.



It helps if you use a straight stitch presser foot on the machine, and also a straight stitch throat plate, if you have one. I had sent them out on the back deck for some fresh air when I heard them arguing.



It sounded like Serenity was trying to talk Tessa out of doing something. With a mother's instincts I knew that it was probably something that needed investigating.

Sure enough I found Tessa had climbed up onto the ledge to chase after a ladybug.

On 1.5mm needles (US 000) it wasn't exactly "quick", but it didn't take all day either.

I still have a bit of tweaking to do to the pattern so maybe the next rendition will be in one of her better colours. She seems to favour colours that range from pink through mauve to soft blues.

Interesting how the right wig and eyes can make the faceup look so much better. The wig matches her eyebrows perfectly, the eye colour makes the most of the "shadow" on her lids, and even her lip colour looks pinker and more realistic.

I spun the yarn myself from fibre that was a gift from a friend. Qiviut fibre (the ultra soft undercoat of a musk ox) is very hard to come by and commercially spun qiviut sells for $70 - $80 per ounce! This hat, with its folded up brim, weighs about 2 ounces. This is just a prototype. I knit it in cobweb weight, Colourmart 2/28 cashmere with 1.5mm (US 000) needles. I will be sending it away in a swap package. The next one will be one Petunia can keep. I'll try it with the more commonly available Knitpicks laceweight.

Peanut and Pumpkin are feeling a bit sad. They'll really miss their new little friends.

They were too baggy and .... well .... bloomerish! So I gave that first set to the Pukipuki, Petunia because she's a bit bigger and fills them out more. I found a bit of an online tutorial on how to make dresses from lace. Using the idea I improvised and came up with this little sunset.  



Ms Muffet wanted to show you the matching bloomers underneath.



Mr Magoo wasn't left out either. He got this snug fitting little beanie.

Here's Mr Magoo in a new pair of shorts I made him. He had been sitting around in a sweater and wool hat when our first hot summer day finally hit. I had to take pity on him!

Wow, 6mm is surprisingly small! I bought several different colours because I wasn't quite sure what I'd want for the character. Thank goodness I found, and joined, an online dollhouse building community! The members there recommend doing a "dry fit" of all the parts in each stage of the building process before you do any gluing. Good thing I listened. These houses don't exactly snap together. Tabs have to be whittled down and lined up perfectly for everything to fit.

They started out with Pumpkin pulling.....


......and Peanut pushing....


....but soon Pumpkin's winter-tender tootsies were feeling the bumps in the pavement... (I did tell that girl to wear shoes!)....


.....and Peanut offered to give them both a ride.

It was addressed to me so they politely waited while I opened the outer wrapper. A very pretty, red, "story book" box was inside. Having travelled that way themselves earlier this year they had a pretty good idea what might be inside and the excitement mounted!

The little knitted leggings were too small for Maddy because they are meant for a RealPuki, but the hat, and shoes will fit both a RealPuki and PukiPuki. The dress/tunic will likely be too big for a RealPuki but fits a PukiPuki perfectly.

The buttons on their dresses were chosen from a button jar I inherited  from my mother. It's one she got from her mother. That means the buttons  most likely belonged to my granddaughters' great, great, grandmother!

She started out with a ResinSoul Yu she had named Pip, a tiny doll that had a rather awful default faceup when it arrived.  The original faceup, pictured below, was pale, with dark shadows under the eyes that made Pip look sick or ghostly. She looked sad, lonely, and lost.

Mostly it has been tights, tights, and more tights! I've now got 13 different colours of LittleFee/YoSd sized tights available in my Etsy store. For many of the colours I've sewn 9 or more pairs.
