I love it... it looks so soft and cushy!!.. if you feel the need to give it away, It would have a lovely home right in front of my kitchen sink..lol ;~)
Rabbitch, yes, both steps are done on a 4 harness loom. It really has to be beat HARD (two, hard-as-you-can WHACKS per pick) so I wouldn't try it on my table loom. You have a floor loom don't you? And a new studio to set it up in too you lucky dog.
He has seen the chenille strips, Maggie Ann, but not the actual rug (other than the pictures). I'm weaving it on one of the guild looms at the local arts center.
I don't know if he feels "proud" of me or not. I think he just takes all the creative stuff I do in stride. I've been doing fiber-arts stuff as long as he has known me. It's just part of who I am.
No, it will need neither washing nor blocking. It will need a good brushing and vacuuming though, to remove any loose fibers and fuzz. The other side is pretty much identical.
That's just so wicked neat. Makes me feel the itch to start going to the guild meetings again, pay my dues and start up on the loom again. *grins* Most excellent work! I want one of those nifty rugs for my bedroom.
I really like that! I think I'm going to make something like that my goal once I get my loom set up. You can do it on a four-harness, right?
