Aquatic Bird
One of the plants in Solomon's tank is growing multiple "spiderettes", each one branching out further from the mother plant in a generational sort of way.
It's forming a fence like appearance almost all the way around his tank.
Solomon has taken to resting on the runners in between the spiderettes, just like a bird on a telephone wire.
Just discovered these comments. Oh my goodness ladies, I am so sorry I did not acknowledge them sooner! PJ, yes, the tank is heated and filtered. Even though the gravel bottom is just regular tank filler, not proper plant substrate, the plants are doing well. You should see them now! I really need to do an update.
Thanks Ruinwen. He's grown a LOT since that photo and is now looking more tattered due to age and the fact that he lays against the filter intake most of the time. His fins are enormous and drag him down so he sticks himself there to rest.

SO gorgeous! Your water plants are beautiful! So, you have a running filter? Your betta is in heaven!
What a lovely Betta you have! Such a calming, lush environment for him to chill in.
