A perfect day kayaking on Hick's Lake. Beautiful weather which was neither too hot nor too cold, mirror smooth lake reflecting the blue sky and gorgeous mountains, and best of all ---
--- the amazing quiet. Come along, I'll take you for a 25 second ride. Be sure to have your speakers on. You'll hear practically nothing, it's so peaceful!

It truly was Gene. I love kayaking on lakes that don't allow motor boats. It was actually quieter that the video clip suggests. The way I had the camera mounted amplified the sound of the paddle dipping into the water. Even the paddles make very little noise in real life.
My husband spent some of the day trying out a new fishing rod. In a motor boat I have very little patience for sitting around fishing -- or accompanying a fisherman. But when it's quiet and I can paddle off exploring a little on my own in the same area I love it.

I'm glad you enjoyed the clip PJ. It's very difficult to portray, in a blog post, such a peaceful experience. We stayed out longer than we expected because we were both enjoying the day so much. I occasionally just drifted about in utter silence while he did some experimental casting with his new rod.
