Progress continues on the "Roses" cross-stitch.

I've really been enjoying working on it.

Thanks Carrie. I've got a little more of it done since the picture was taken. I was away for a week visiting in Alberta, so before I left I post dated a few entries for my blog so they would run while I was gone.

While I was away I actually finished the rose and I'm working on the stitches that surround it. When I say "finished" I'm only talking about the cross-stitches of course. The backstitch detailing goes in last and that is always the step that brings a cross-stitch piece to life.

I've been working on it for an hour or so each evening Maggie Ann. It's been so long since I've done any cross-stitch that I'm really enjoying this project.

I use to do cross stitch and have not anything in about 6 years, your tempting me.... but really I don't know if I can start yet another project, hehe.. Your rose is gorgeous I can't wait to see it finished. What are you planning to do with it?

This piece is a group of roses (3 full blooms and a number of buds) lying as though just picked. I've got the cross-stitches of the first rose complete and I'm working my way into other areas.

I'll have it professionally framed Deep End, and it will be hung in my main bathroom, joining another cross-stitched picture of a peach coloured rose that already hangs there.

Or it may hang in the living room instead. We'll see. The colours suit either area.
