The model is Ruby Red Fashion Friend's Sara. She is wearing a dress I sewed using a Adams-Harris pattern, "Kate". The dress is supposed to be worn with a little pinafore, but I'm still waiting for a lace insertion for that. The leggings and faux long sleeves were sewn long ago when I had ball jointed dolls.
A fiber-crafts fanatic who lives to create. I'm also "Wovenflame" on Ravelry, Flickr, ETSY, DoA and yahoogroups.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Are you wearing green today for Saint Patrick's Day? Although I'm not Irish I still make a bit of an effort to wear green on March 17. I think it's a leftover from my school days when not wearing green, Irish or not, was likely to get you pinched. this year I also made a little green doll's dress.

Colour Comparison
Since it has been remarked that the colour of the natural green cotton is subtle I thought I'd show a photo of it side by side with natural Sarepta brown and Acada white, though the white is in a skein since I have no unspun sliver left.
Apparently both the brown and the green will darken and intensify with use and laundering, or after being boiled for awhile.

Dwindling Macaw
January in this area saw temperatures that remained predominantly in the grass to macaw range. Errm -- I mean in the 3 to 8 degrees celsius range, (37 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit).
I've been keeping up with the knitting of the "My Year In Temperatures" scarf by knitting 6 rows every second day. That's 3 rows to represent the high temperature for each day. The speckles in the scarf represent each day's low temperature.
If you look very carefully you might spot a row where you would assume I forgot the speckles. I didn't. In my colour line up each colour spans 3 degrees. That particular day the high temperature and the low temperature were within 3 degrees of each other so they were both represented by the same colour.
I've been going through an awful lot of the colour "macaw", which is a problem because it was the one colour that I did not start off with a full ball of. I'll have to order more. Soon.

Summer Tunic
I finally finished sewing the Lemon Yardage into a summer tunic.
I plan to wear it tomorrow for a demonstration of Saori style techniques that I'm doing for our local guild.
The holes in the right front are slits created during the weaving process. They were then embellished using a technique called "Picot Beading".
I also beaded the edge of both lapels.
The pretty dragonfly button was a gift from a friend and fellow guild member.
The pocket was formed by folding up the bottom edge.
I'll try to get a few modeled shots when I'm wearing it tomorrow.
