Meet My New Girl

 I'd like to introduce Neelie, my new-to-me Fairyland Pukifee Bonnie.



I bought her secondhand from NixiPixie and picked her up today. The doll's name was "Neelsie", and she was named after NixiPixie's Aunt Neelie. I've decided to drop the added "s" and go back to just plain "Neelie" which I find easier to pronounce. I think it really suits her too.

The darling little outfit was made by NixiPixie as a going away present. So cute! Check out those microscopic stitches in the sock. 20sts to the INCH! NixiPixie makes outfits like this, and similar, for several sizes of doll including Pukifee, Persons, and Blythe. If you see stock in her shop better snap it up quick as they go FAST! Sending Baby Zoe Home

Okay, last three headbands, this time for real.....



She's actually going home today....



But I took the time last night to make three more headbands for Dollzone Babies....



But these ones aren't destined for commissions. These ones are going into my Etsy shop.



It's hard to let this little cutie go!



But she really must get home to her caretaker now, so I've bundled her up in her going home outfit. Now to pop her and all of her new wardrobe into the mail.

Maybe Not Yet?

I said yesterday that the three headbands were my last projects with the Dollzone Christmas Baby.



Well.....maybe not quite yet. While waiting for the owner to pay for the commissioned items I had one more day with little Zoe.



Another new owner of two tiny Dollzone Babies has been asking if I could also make her doll something.



With that extra day I was able to squeeze in a few more tiny headbands and another pair of ruffle-bum panties before the little model has to be packed up and sent home.



These are the items I made for SaraBeara2's little ones. Modelled by the ever adorable Zoe, who belongs to HDoneSix.

The Final Two Items

Zoe's ready to go home now.



She enjoyed her time here, but she wants to be home in time for Santa's visit.



I finished her final two items last night. A blue flowered headband inspired by this photo. And a red Chrysanthemum styled after this picture.



I hope she and her new wardrobe have a safe journey home, back to Ontario.

Ittsy Bittsy Teensy Weensy Headband

I'm crocheting tiny little headbands for 3" long Zoe, the Dollzone Christmas Baby. She'll probably get several in different colours.

 

I crocheted the flower on this first one using 3 strands of a 6 strand embroidery floss.



The headband itself is only about the size of a thumb ring and was crocheted using weaver's perle cotton and a 1 mm hook.

Dress for Zoe

The tiny little dress is done. The Dollzone Christmas Baby will be heading home soon. I just have a couple of flowered headbands to make for her first.

Rose

The outfit I was making, and blogged about earlier, is now complete. Here it is being modelled by Rose, the rightful owner. She is Kristo's Fairyland Minifee Luka.



The slouchy beret in hand dyed, handspun camel/silk was crocheted without a pattern, just trying it on for fit now and then.



The corset and skirt were made from men's shirts I picked up at a thrift store. The shirt I used for the corset had a soft, peached finish to it that made a very nice doll-scale velvet like fabric. I hand embroidered the flowering vines. The skirt was made from the other two men's shirts. LOTS of fabric left over of course, which is a good thing because Morganna would like a skirt too!



Then I used a t-shirt purchased at Micheals to make the detached sleeves and the tights. Poor Rose had to go home in her stocking feet though. Shannon was not about to give up those boots for more than just a quick photo session.

Rawrrrrrr!

 I crocheted Bobby a new hat.



Now he wants someone to come over to play "Monsters".



His sister, Becky, is away at Ban's Boutique getting a new faceup.



He's feeling a little lonely.

Baby Bunny

Came here for the cute? Well, do I have the cute!



This is the latest piece for the Dollzone Christmas Baby commission I'm working on.



It's a custom designed, itty, bitty, cashmere bunny hat for the 3" resin doll owned by HDoneSix.



A few more things to make and then she'll be on her way back home to her caretaker.

Ruffle-Bum

 I had a lot of fun doing these newest additions to the Dollzone Christmas Baby Layette.



I totally improvised the little crocheted soaker panties and booties.



I'm very pleased with the way they turned out.



I hope that HDoneSix, little baby Zoe's caretaker, likes the result.



I have a few more novelty hats to do and then little Zoe will be going back home. 

Work in Progress

I still have a few more items to add to this outfit, but the corset and the skirt are complete.



I made the corset to fit "small bust" Minifees, so this time Morganna gets to model it. Panalaya and Shannon are both "large bust".



It looks so nice on Morganna that she will have a hard time letting it go!

Happy Halloween!

Panalaya was looking so much like a ghostly, mummy-Princess earlier this month when she returned from Ban's Boutique that I saved the photo for Halloween.

Bohemian-ish?

Shannon loves this eclectic outfit done in a Bohemian-esk style.



But she doesn't get to keep it.

 

It was made for a swap with the friend that does my dolls' custom faceups.

• The crocheted hat was made with a tiny ball of handspun. 
• The hap shawl was cut from my husband's old work shirt. 
• The corset, (both the outer velveteen fabric and the inner lining), was made from a pillow sham. It was then embroidered by hand using floss and beads left over from other projects.
• The skirt is made from the leg of a pair of shorts with the ruching detail provided by a coordinating grosgrain string tie from the same shorts. 
•  The tights were made from a t-shirt found on sale at Micheals
• The detached sleeves were made from fabric leftover from other projects.

Granny and Grumpa's

We had house guests for the weekend, and one of the things they are interested in is antiques, so we took them to a local “picker’s paradise”, “Granny and Grumpa’s” in Abbotsford, BC. There are many, many different types of collections there, mostly just strewn about, hoarder style, some loosely organized into collection type, but I thought some of the doll collectors that visit my blog might be interested in the doll collection.



The dolls don’t seem to be displayed in any sort of organized way, newer acquisitions displayed right next to antiques. I’m not really into vintage and antique dolls, nor collectibles in the traditional sense, but I snapped a few quick pictures for those who might like to take a closer look than I did.



I found the overall effect kind of creepy and got out of there rather quickly. LOL. If you see something you’d like to look at closer though perhaps you’d like to contact them?

There are many more dolls in the collection than I have pictured here. In addition to the small room I photographed there is an entire corridor lined with them, floor to ceiling. Plan to visit with someone who is not a doll fan? PLENTY more there to see. Maybe I'll go back someday and photograph some of the other stuff hoarded there. Any special requests? There were a few looms, spinning wheels, and skeiners, but nothing that was in good enough shape to interest an enthusiast, in my opinion.

Fridge is Leekin

 I'm so proud of my granddaughter, Kaylen! She's only 5 years old and just starting kindergarten. After asking how to spell "fridge" she went off and wrote this note for her daddy.



I don't think anyone is formally teaching her to write or spell, it's just something she has taken an interest in and is doing on her own. Amazing!

Body Swap

After being freed from her Fairyland box, a beautiful, blank WooSoo had a question for Shannon.



WooSoo wanted to know if clothing and a wig would be part of her box opening celebration.



Shannon struggles to find a kind and gentle way to break the news.



"WooSoo dear, I hate to tell you this, but that isn't your body, it's.... mine."



"And because it's my body Wovenflame didn't think to make you anything."



"If you were sticking around I'd share it with you, honest I would! But I have it on good authority that you are actually leaving for New York soon."



"Don't be sad Woo'. You get to be part of Ban Sidhe's resin crew and she's an awesome faceup artist! You'll be beautiful!



"Ban has also promised to get you a body of your very own! I bet she'll even make you a lovely wardrobe and include you in one of her wonderful stories."



And nobody does manicures or pedicures more beautifully than Ban Sidhe.



"While I get off of this body that Morganna has generously been sharing with me, why don't you ask Wovenflame to find you a nice, safe and comfortable travelling box?"



"Hello WooSoo. Thank you for bringing Shannon's body along with you. Are you ready to make the switch?"



"Poor Shannon has been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. Did she tell you how disappointed she was when her last body turned out to be white? Yes, yes, it was all very tragic!"



"Oh Morganna, I hope we can truly be friends now? The shared body really made it difficult for us to see eye to eye. I hope all past differences can be put behind us now."



WooSoo, with a look of stony determination, decides to quietly accept her fate and hopes that things really will be better at Ban Sidhe's.



"Oh Shannon, I hope WooSoo doesn't take this too hard, and that she has a safe trip and a happy future at Ban's."
