Hoppy Easter!

A couple of monsters hopped on by to wish you a Happy Easter.

I sewed the kigurumi bunny pajamas using a pattern by DGRequiem. The costumes will be given as little Easter gifts to my granddaughters. The much battered and abused Monster High models that live in Grandma's Toybox kindly agreed to model them for my blog first.

Bear Necessities

Flame watched expectantly while I put the finishing touches on a special outfit he's been longing for.

I used a Pukifee pattern by DGRequeim on Etsy. For it to fit the larger Realfee dolls I had to make a number of adjustments. I had it printed out at 131% and then added additional length to the body and legs and subtracted a little from the length of the sleeves.

Flame was eager to test the fit.

And was thrilled to find it fit perfectly. I was more concerned than he was about the possibility of cold feet, but he agreed to wear the slippers I made to go with the Kigurumi Pajama costume.

He's been practicing his best roar all afternoon.

He's even found a "cave" to hide in waiting for a chance to jump out and scare the girls.

Honestly though, I think they are more likely to be jealous than afraid. I'll probably have to make a costume for Neelie and Peanut too.

Lamb Costumed Amigurumi

With Halloween coming up soon, I couldn't resist making a couple of costumed kid amigurumi.

The pattern is Lana the Lamb amigurumi doll, by Mia Zamora Johnson, aka "Owlishly".

The white one, Lana, is crocheted in acrylic and stuffed with acrylic yarn scraps.

The second one, Larry, made for a guild challenge, has a head crocheted of acrylic, but the grey wool and the brown "hooves" are my own handspun wool. He's also stuffed with clean, unspun wool.

The pattern calls for purchased animal eyes but I embroidered them on to keep the toys kid safe.

These were great fun to make. I can see why there is an amigurumi craze going on.
