Sockettes

This is a prototype of a pattern I am working on for a friend.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It (there is only one so far) is a little "sockette". They take so little yarn that I was able to make one from the scraps leftover after making a regular sock from a 50g ball of "Confetti". It weighs less than 15g, including the button. These would make great "stash buster" projects for using up all those little oddments of sock yarn.

I've got the pattern partially hashed out, but need to write down the revisions I made on the fly.

That little socky thing is adorable! What a great way to use leftovers!

My original intent was to make a pattern to share, but I am concerned that some of my preferred techniques might cause some confusion and grief if others were trying to follow the pattern.

I am a "toe-up" sock knitter and I used my usual "figure 8" cast on and the "magic-loop technique" rather than double-points. These methods make the sockette easier for ME to knit, but I might have to find a more commonly known method if I am to share the pattern. What do you think?

I love your sockettes! I also love the magic loop, so if you still would like to make the pattern available, I'd love to make these myself.

Okay Michelle. It may be a while though, I'm having a hard time getting back to that project. If I'm not spinning then I'm knitting on my lace shawl. The local Spinners and Weavers Guild has got me back into weaving too so my time is really divided.

And my husband thought I would be bored if I "retired" young(ish). HA!
